FCCLA Code of Conduct

EVERYONE READ THIS CAREFULLY! EVERYONE IS EXPECTED TO ADHERE TO HIGH STANDARDS OF PERSONAL INTEGRITY.  Infractions of these rules will not be tolerated and should any one be broken, the school officials and parents/guardians will be called and arrangements will be made to send the delegate home immediately. If for any reason, the delegate must return home early, any additional costs must be assumed by the parents/guardian. The cost will include total repayment for attending the meeting.

I accept the authority of my adviser and any authorized adult in charge of this trip. MY ADVISER MUST KNOW MY WHEREABOUTS AT ALL TIMES.

I will be on time and actively participate in all sessions of the meetings and will make arrangements to report them to my chapter, section, district, state or any designated individuals (s) as requested.

I will adhere to any rules set by the motel/hotel property and respect the rights of other guests of the motel/hotel. I will NOT take items (towels, etc.) from the motel/hotel. No destruction of equipment or facilities is allowed. This includes food stains, writing on table cloths, confetti strewn about, etc.

I will turn off or silence my cell phone during all meetings, workshops and sessions.

I will not purchase, possess, consume or be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs at any time. This includes mock cocktails.

I will not purchase of have in my possession at any time (going to, returning from and during the meeting) any form of tobacco. I will not purchase or have in my possession any kind of fireworks/fire arms.

I will be properly dressed at all times, i.e. no crop tops, tanks, shirts with objectionable pictures/sayings, tube tops, halter tops, backless garments, garments with spaghetti straps or strapless garments.  Clothes that are “see through”, cut low, or expose your midriff are not acceptable.  Sleeveless garments must extend to the end of the shoulders and fit closely under the arms. Shirts with objectionable pictures/sayings,  or any other “gang-related” clothing ,bandanas, hats or caps are not permitted. Skirts and shorts should not be more than 1 1/2” above the knee.  Blue jeans are unacceptable for general sessions and workshops, however they may be worn to the recreation activities.  Students shall not wear pants that, when fastened, sag or fit below the waist.  All pants must fit around the waist and be properly fastened.

I will be in my room with the lights out by the designated time set by the state or my adviser (only if my adviser’s time is earlier than that set by the state). Advisers will check rooms. I will remember that there are other people present and will not interrupt their rest nor their enjoyment of the meeting by loud noise, music, running up and down the halls, etc.

I will not leave the group unattended. I will be with at least 2-3 members of the delegation at all times, including the room. My adviser will know my whereabouts at all times.

I will NOT have members of the opposite sex in my room at any time- unless an adult adviser is present.

I will NOT participate in any PDA’s (Public Display of Affection)

I will NOT bring a baby or toddler to the conferences or activities.

I will be present at each meal and safeguard my health by eating nutritious foods.

FCCLA activities are approved by the Illinois High School Association. This is an official meeting of the organization. The code of conduct must be followed by any person attending the meetings at the section, district, state and national level as a delegate of the Illinois Association of FCCLA.  I have read the rules. I will abide by them.
