Peer Education & Leadership Training 2007

FCCLA members attending this dual training will be involved in hands-on interactive activities and workshops. Registration will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.  A tentative schedule is provided below.The opening session will include a keynote by the nationally known speaker, Corey Flournoy.  Again this yearEveryone will participate in a team building session on Sunday evening.  The Peer Education/Section Officer specific trainings will be on Monday morning. The evening activity will include a games night at the hotel.  

Peer Education

Smoke Detectives will be the feature program for this year’s Peer Education Seminar.  Peer Educators will be trained with a presentation to give back in their communities on the importance of fire prevention & safety.  During the training, attendees will receive resources that will be useful in their presentations and as they carry out the projects in their schools and communities.  The QUOTA for Peer Education is 4 members per each Adviser.

Leadership Training

This training is for State, Section and Chapter Officers.  It will emphasize leadership skills including team building, meeting planning, parliamentary procedure and the FCCLA state and national programs.   The QUOTA for Leadership Training is 6 members per each Adviser.  State and Section Officers should all attend!

Illinois Foundation for FCCLA Activity

As in the past, we will have a silent auction to raise money for Foundation.  Please bring a $10.00 gift/chapter to donate to the auction.  Tickets will be for sale for a donation of 1/$1.00 or 6/$ 5.00.

Conduct and Dress

Student Conduct Forms can be found on the website.  Please print a copy of the form off and reproduce for each student to sign.  Members’ behavior at these meetings is the only image others in the hotels, on campus and at conference centers have of our organization.  Student conduct and dress should contribute to the positive, professional image of FCCLA. Jeans, mid drift tops, and T-shirts are NOT acceptable dress for training sessions.  Students may wear jeans to the evening fun activity which begins at 9:30 p.m.  Advisers are responsible for enforcing this policy.

Liability and Medical Release Forms

Liability & Medical Release Forms can be found on the website.  Please print a copy of the form off and reproduce for each student to sign.  The insurance company that covers the liability for Illinois FCCLA requires that this form by on file with the state office for every meeting.  One signed copy covers the student for all meetings this school year. 

Adviser Responsibilities

Advisers are responsible for the behavior and discipline of their students throughout the meeting.  Students causing a disturbance or displaying inappropriate behavior will be asked to leave the meeting.

Membership

In order to register and attend the Illinois FCCLA Meetings, attendees must be an affiliated member of Illinois FCCLA.  Please affiliate your students at the on-line system prior to registering for the meeting.

Cancellation/Refunds

There will be no refunds granted for the Peer Education/Leadership Training.  In the event that a student cannot attend, please substitute another student.

CPDU Credit

Adults participating in the Peer Education/Leadership Training may receive one Certified Professional Development Unit (CPDU).  To receive this credit, you must attend the adviser’s session that will be held.

Peer Education & Leadership Training 2007

Student members, chapter advisers, and chaperones (cost includes facility costs, keynote speaker fees, Sun. dinner, Mon. breakfast & hotel room)…….  $55.00/person The Illinois Foundation for FCCLA contributes a large amount to help defer the cost of this event.  Without the Foundations help, the registration cost would be approximately $ 125.00 per person.  Thank you Illinois Foundation for FCCLA for helping with this event!

*This is the last date registration will be accepted at the regular registration rate.  Registrations may be refused after this date if meeting capacities are reached.

Registrations received after these dates cannot be processed prior to the meeting.

How to Register:

  1. Regular Registration Fees – you must register on-line at http://www.ilfccla.org/registration.htm  Click on the Peer Education icon, click on registration.  You will enter the information on-line, print out a copy & mail in the payment.  To avoid the late fee you must submit the on-line information by September 27th.
  1. Late Registration – Any registration entered after the regular registration deadlines will be charged the late registration fee, so register early!
  1. Completing Forms – Complete the Peer Education & Leadership Training registration form on-line by filling in all information requested.  Make copies of the completed form – send one copy to the address below and keep one copy for your records.  Payment for registration may either be paid in advance via mail or presented at the registration booth on site.  Please make every effort to pay in advance.

  1. Print Code of Conduct & Medical Liability Release Forms from the Illinois FCCLA website.  Make copies for your students.  Have all copies signed and either mail them in advance to the state FCCLA office or bring them with you to the conference and present them at the registration table.
  1. Receipts for payment will be available at the registration booth.
  2. Refund Policy – because of the requirement to guarantee numbers at the meeting site, refunds will not be granted for cancelled registrations.
